Mix over heat until dough starts to pull away from edge and make a ball (med- high) and then put in a ziplock bag.

The 2010 May Fair will take place on Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (raindate: May 30 from noon to 5 p.m.). Don't miss the fun!

General Information:
Collingswood, New Jersey will be bursting with art, music and activities for all ages on Saturday, May 29 as Collingswood Partners hosts the 31st Annual May Fair. What began in 1979 as a small “clothesline art exhibit” now encompasses more than ten blocks of the business district along Haddon Avenue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Rain Date May 30 from noon to 5 p.m.)

Tens of thousands of people attended the 2009 event. More than 150 artists and crafters will display and sell their unique creations in a juried show. Children will have their day of fun in the “KidZone” featuring pony rides, carnival games and rides.

Six stages of live music will feature blues, rock, folk and more. An antique & classic auto show and Harley-Davidson motorcycle display and contest will add to the festival’s appeal. Visitors will also find several Food Courts complimenting the downtown restaurants & cafés.

There will be everything from pulled pork to funnel cake! May Fair also welcomes the return of the renowned Collingswood Farmers Market offering “Jersey Fresh” produce and florals sold in a delightful open air atmosphere

Jelly Bean Jungle

This place is awesome. There is free play on Saturdays, but Sunday's are for party's only. It is only for 5 and under so the younger kids can play and not get trampled. There is a big net and tube playground, a stage with a video camera that broadcasts the "show", fish, and balls to play in. It is very clean, and the staff is super friendly, even giving me coupons to use. There is plenty to eat with kid's favorite foods and lots of seating for parents as the kids play. Both my three year old and 18 month old had plenty to do for an hour and a half after which they slept for a few hours!

Tokyo Hibachi

This place is awesome for an older child. Make SURE you ask to sit in the hibachi section and order off of that menu. The buffet does look awesome, but if you want the show you have to sit there. We ordered off of the lunch menu which was totally reasonable in price. (though the kids meal is expensive yet adult sized, and there is a sharing charge) We had a chef named Jack who was so much fun and so kid friendly. He not only cooked on the table right in front of us, but he did about 5 magic tricks and amazed Brooke with the "volano" and his jokes. We all had such a great time! The food was delicious!

Spread your Wings and Other THings!

This is an indoor playground for young kids (probably 5 and under) with slides, dress up, and all kinds of toys. There is a snack bar with kid friendly snacks and juice boxes (which the kids tend to need a drink and a break to get a few hours worth) They can play all day and it's very inexpensive, but they normally only last 2-3 hours before they are exhausted.

In the same shopping center is a really cute Puppy store (they JUST have puppies!) Where you can actually go in the little area and play with the puppies! They are just so sweet, and the kids get a big kick out of that.

Also, is a hair cutting place just for kids. For about 10 dollars, they will give the kids stickers, and let them sit on a cool seat while they get their hair cut. There are kid tv shows on, and toys for the little brothers and sisters to play. They did Brooke's and didn't make her wash it (they just used a spray bottle) and gave her a little braid. There were no tears and she actually had a fun time!

Garden State Discovery Museum

We ended up getting the membership which makes sense if you have two kids and are planning to go at least 3 times in a year. It does get crowded on weekends, but Sunday normally isn't that bad (unless it's raining!) They have a snack bar for drinks and snacks and tons of fun for the kids (click on the link to see more about it) After 2-3 hours here, the kids take a really great nap! And on nice days there is an outside section with sand to play in.

Whole Foods Market

I took the kids to Whole Foods and although I didn't get much shopping done I was able to grab a few things. They like eating lunch at the little cafeteria inside. They both picked pizza but I was able to get a Asian food , including dumplings, asparagus and tofu. We drank water from the cups provided (from the water fountain) and it only cost one more dollar than McDonalds cost us.
After, the kids enjoyed pushing around a child size shopping cart, the free samples, and the icecream/ cookie bar. They also have popsicles near the front that you can buy and even eat outside. The food is delicious, and still fast (and most of it is made with more natural ingredients.)

Riverwinds

Riverwinds Swimming Pool is fun to go if you are a member. The kids had a great time splashing in the shallow end and playing with the empty buckets of water. You have to be 5 to ride the waterslide though;(

There are family locker rooms but it is way easier if you are already wearing your bathing suit when you get there.
